Voodoo Mambo 27.5+ Mens Mountain Bike - 18", 20" Frames is rated out of 5 by 6.Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from A serious plus bike enduro ripper (after some minor mods) Wow! This bike rips. Took it to bikepark wales for some uplift action and it handles stuff a hardtail shouldn't this easily. I took a few runs on this instead of my 4 grand 160mm enduro bike and loved every second. The long top tube and long back end make it very stable through the rough stuff and at higher speeds(i did think the chainstays might be too long but the longer wheelbase helps keep you centered when the speed gets up and the terrain gets steep). The spec is great for the money, a properly damped and adjustable fork, the tyres are ace and suprising to see at this price point, the sram nx drivetrain is solid and reliable though the powerspline bottom bracket is dissapointing as their bearings don't tend to last long and the brakes are reliable if not the best out there. It's nice to see it is set up for internal dropper post routing as it really needs one and no bikes at this price tend to have them. It's not a perfect bike there are some issues. It's begging for a longer travel fork so you can put that loong wheelbase to good use and slacken off the head angle a little (fortunately the standard fork can be modified to 150mm travel quite easily which i did). Also the headube is a bit long on my 20" which is exacerbated by a headset top cover thats taller than any I've ever seen giving it a bar height higher then my enduro full sus. The shimano brake levers dont play nice with the sram nx shifter especially if you like to set up for 1 finger braking and run the shifter closer to the grip than the brake lever. Lastly with the speed its capable of downhill i think maybe it could do with bigger brakes I found myself struggling to lock the back end with all that grip from the huge maxxis tyres and overall it felt like i had more grip for stopping than the brakes could keep up with. Overall at the price its a great bike with some room for a few minor improvements over time to really get the best out of it.Date published: 2018-07-05Rated 4 out of 5 by xblnd060119 from Voodoo mambo 27.5+ I have owned the bike for nearly a month and am very happy with my purchase. The spec of the build is amazing for the price I paid for the bike £640 in the recent sale and is a bargain at full price. You would be very hard pushed to find a build of similar quality from other brands for the same price. When i purchased the bike I bought a shock pump with the bike to set up my suspension to my liking the initial set up of the suspension took three rides to find the sweet spot with fork pressure and adjusting the rebound. The bar and stem are perfect for my build just the right width on the bars and a nice short stem really instill confidence when going downhill. The brakes do the job well not the best set of brakes in the world but far from the worst they modulate well but get a bit flustered on longer downhill braking seem to fade a bit this should be an easy problem to remedy by going up a size of rotor front and back but I am a big guy so this should not affect most people If I am being picky the seatpost is very long and could do with being cut down about 2 inches as it does not go far enough into the frame for me to feel 100% comfortable on the technical sections of trail also the seat is very uncomfortable on long rides with extended seated pedalling Wheels are light and strong with sealed bearings I have not had any spikes come lose yet and have really hammered the bike on my local trails taking in the occasional jump and drop off I have converted to tubeless and run 25-30 psi rear and 20 -25 in the front depending on conditions My only problem with the bike is the crank and B.B. my bottom bracket has come loose already but I am looking to upgrade to a set of better cranks with external B.B. Overall I highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for a great bike at a great price with aspects to future upgradabilityDate published: 2018-06-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Brilliant bike for off roading Great bike rides great Smooth gears Very good sharp brakes Front forks are great almost solid when locked off but have different settings so you can have slight dampening as well as full Massive tyres witch are supper sticky off road making comers alot quicker and easier Very light Looks great Bad points Tyres are not good at all for on road due to being so big but great for off road Would be even better if done in a 22" frame as well as a 20" Recommended by me been out off road all day and made it very enjoyable I was abit worried about the 11 gears but great ratios making hills very easy (I'm not fit at all) and down hill you can get some great speed, 100% happy with my buyDate published: 2018-04-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Icebore from Great buy Spent some time on-line looking for a cheap hardtail to a reasonable specification and eventually decided on the Mambo. Currently available at a great price, I was keen to go down the 1x11 route and try 2.8 inch tyres for the 1st time. I must say I haven’t been disappointed. The gear ratios work well for me on our local trails and as others have mentioned, the gear changes are very smooth and positive. On the steeper climbs, where you’ve got to transfer weight forward to keep the front wheel on the ground, it’s possible for the rear wheel to lose grip under load. Although I’ve experienced this with other mountain bikes, this hasn’t been an issue with the Mambo. As a personal preference I’ve converted to tubeless and find that running lower pressures than recommended works well. The effects of the rougher trail surfaces are absorbed to a greater degree through the softer tyres, although the rolling resistance will be marginally increased.Date published: 2018-04-23Rated 5 out of 5 by MTBMO16 from BEST MOUNTAIN BIKE OUT FOR THE MONEY! The gears on this bike is very smooth. Even though the suspension is not coated black. It is super plush and smooth but even bigger and thicker stanction in real life. Because of plus sized tyres it soaks up bumps so you cant feel it much.(like a full suspension). They're really expensive and are tubeless ready. The brakes are super responsive and stops you instantly.Date published: 2018-04-06Rated 5 out of 5 by bainsontoast from brilliant fun This bike is exactly what I wanted and for the price I was amazed with the quality! the gears are really smooth changing and the adjustment on the forks Is easy and there is a large range of adjustmentDate published: 2018-02-10
