Carrera Intercity Folding Bike - Blue is rated out of 5 by 15.Rated 4 out of 5 by Jaybo73 from A good value folder. A well built folder that offers a stable ride. My only criticism would be that the seat post isn’t long enough to reach the ground when the bike is folded - meaning that it isn’t freestanding when folded.Date published: 2018-04-27Rated 5 out of 5 by PhoenixLCH from Great bike Easy and quick to put up and away, light to carry, easy and fun to ride, we use them for going on holiday and going down the sea frontDate published: 2018-04-10Rated 4 out of 5 by Crista from Easy Folding and Good looking Reasonably easy to fold up. Had an issue with the saddle slipping down even when clamped. Contacted Store. Tightened up nut on the side. Now have an Allan key to do this if necessary. Saddle not as comfortable as I would have like but hope this will wear in. Bike goes well and looks good.Date published: 2017-07-23Rated 3 out of 5 by brianc64 from OK as car commute bike, not for trains. I must admit to being a bit disappointed with my purchase. The bike has never folded together securely. It didn't, even when the guy at the shop was showing me how to fold it, but I was in hurry, so overlooked it, especially as its just to go in boot of my car for commute. Even if it did click together securely I think the bike is too heavy and too large to carry easily on the train and if I were to commute in this way would leave the bike assembled rather than trying to carry such a cumbersome item on the train. The front brakes suffer from a lot of modulation and the associated shudder is transferred through the steerer tube to the handlebars, I can only assume this is due to cheap brakes flexing as I think the headset is secure. On the positive side, I do like the bike, although the seat is uncomfortable for any rides over 30 Minutes. The gears are not bad and enable enough speed for most cyclists. The styling is very striking and I rate it as one of the best looking folding bikes, especially in the blue. For these reasons I can just about recommend this bike.Date published: 2016-09-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Gulya from Ms Very good and reliable bike for use on the roads. Also, looks nice as well as comfortable to fold away when needed.Date published: 2016-09-15Rated 5 out of 5 by AlliJB from Such a cute bike that rides well I only collected this on Saturday 3/9/16 but it was such a wet day I wasn't sure I'd picked a good day. However, after a quick practice folding and unfolding (very fast and intuitive), I carried it downstairs and out of the shop then unfolded it and rode it to my bus stop a few minutes away. I was a bit concerned prior to riding as I'd not ridden a small-wheeled bike for a great number of years, but no problems at all and it rides easily and smoothly, can't wait to test it on a longer ride. It's a bit heavy to carry far so not as good for my original purpose as hoped which includes rushing over a railway foot bridge to catch a train. I really don't mind that though as the bike is too nice not to want to ride whenever I get chance so it will be used on normal working days instead.Date published: 2016-09-05Rated 4 out of 5 by Googz from It's fast and rides well... I've had this bike for just over a week, and am happy with it. There's no hint of flex in the frame or handle bars, even when climbing hills out of the saddle in a high gear. The gear ratio is very comfortable, easy peasy in 1 (possibly too easy) but lots of pace in top gear - I haven't spun out yet, even on downhills. Brakes are decent. Folding mechanism is a little more finicky than I'd like - you have to twist the handle bars so that the brake levers are pointing downward, drop the post down (although I've found a height now where I don't have to do this step), and then fold them over. The main hinge is secure and has a little slider you need to push before you can swing open the release lever, which is a good thing. The clamp sometimes needs a bit of nursing into position when straightening the bike out to ride again though. The seat post is only just long enough for me at 6 foot - and truth be told could be a little longer to fit me perfectly. The markings on the seat post rub off quickly, so it's difficult to set it back to the height you prefer quickly. The seat post narrows at the top so that when you drop the seat down for folding and re-tighten the quick release it swivels making it unwieldy when carrying by the seat. To overcome this you have to drop the seat down and tighten before it goes all the way down, which adds a few seconds to the folding. Once folded, a bobble sticking out from the front fork snaps into a latch at the back to hold the bike securely folded. While this is great, separating the two wheels quickly takes a bit of practice - a deft wedging and twisting of the foot between the two wheels does the trick. Overall it's a good stiff, fast bike, and for the price, I'd say it's excellent.Date published: 2016-08-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Typingthisonthetrain from Carrera folding bike I like it. It's light and even though it has 8 gears I can still get up most hills easily.Date published: 2016-06-05
