Meguiars Quik Clay Starter Kit is rated out of 5 by 20.Rated 5 out of 5 by Tony8401 from Really Excellent stuff Meguiars The Meguiars Range are excellent for bringing your car back to life and show room finishDate published: 2017-07-04Rated 4 out of 5 by Brians54 from Great product for the amateur to use I brought this because I had two places on my motorhome that I had resprayed and I needed to blend the overspray into the rest of the paintwork. The kit has everything you will need and was simple and straightforward to use. I bit pricey for what it is but does mean you don't have to buy separate elements to do the job.Date published: 2017-05-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Darkboy from Profesional Paint Finish If you're considering buying this product to clean your car, checked out the series of Meguiars YouTube video's first. They show their complete range of cleaning products and how to use them correctly. The Meguiras Quick Clay Starter Kit will give you that glass glossy shine to your paint. Best to wash your vehicle first then used the clay. The YouTube video's show you how to use it. It's really easy and impossible to damage your paint. You get 1 block of clay with the detailing spray. I broke the clay into 2 bit to do 2 cars. I also bought the Meguiars complete car washing kit, which I got excellent results. This combine with the clay kit transformed my cars to showroom condition. If you want that showroom condition results, this is the product to start with.Date published: 2017-02-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Grumpyguts from Showroom finish Great product - the Meguiar range was introduced to me by a friend and I have been using this particular product for a couple of years now. The kit includes a large enough lump of clay and sufficient lubricant to completely clean a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow at least three times, I even use it on the windows and chrome work so it is remarkable value. It doesn't take too long either - as long as you get a move on :-) Heartily recommended.Date published: 2016-10-06Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Good but not great especially with tar spots Thought i would buy a decent product to hopefully return my 3 year old Renault Megane Sports Tourer GT Line to a nearly new look. First time ive ever clayed and watched several videos. The detailer says it will last on 6-7 cars which is never going to happen. 2 cars max. It did remove alot of dirt from the car but try and get off alot of ingrained tar and no hope. For the money i paid i wouldnt use again.Date published: 2016-08-07Rated 5 out of 5 by leebrows1 from great product I would recommend this product to any one, its quick and easy to use and leaves the paint very smooth making polishing less off a painDate published: 2016-07-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from I should have done this years ago! Amazing! After seeing videos about this and being curious I thought I would give this a go. The guy who served me in Halfords said I had made a good decision, so that was reassuring. The Vehicle in Question... In the 4 years I have owned my black Kia Cee'd I've given it a shampoo occasionally, but I could never get the surface back to a smooth finish no matter how hard I tried. It has faced 40,000 miles of the Lake District, motorways, and poorly maintained (unswept) urban roads. Front wheel arches, front doors, bonnet - all the road grime would not shift regardless of what shampoo I used. The Product Currently the kit has 160grams of clay instead of 100g (60%) more. It also contains some spray to help the clay move over the paintwork and a large microfibre cloth to wipe areas after you have done them. Preparation I rinsed, shampooed and rinsed the car again so I had the best chance of getting it clean with the clay. Application is easy, spray a foot square area with the detailer, mould small chunk (about 10 grams) into a patch about the size of 4 postage stamps and work it over the surface until it starts gliding smoothly (you can hear the roughness when you start). If you drop it, don't use it again, as it might have grit embedded in it. After doing 1 square foot the white clay was BROWN with grime and gunk. Simply refold/mould the clay and repeat with the next area. Once areas are done, wipe them with the cloth. It tool longer with the bonnet, front doors, front wheel arches and back of the car as they face the full effect of the grime being kicked up by the tyres and road (it turned the clay black in places!). Total time to do the car was about 2 hours (worth splitting into two sessions). The results are amazing! 1) I reckon I've cleared about 97% of the gunk off off the paintwork. It looks great and is silky smooth to the touch now I've waxed it. My 6 year old paintwork, looks closer to 2 years old now. The next time I clay it I'm sure I'll get a lot of what I missed off the paintwork. 2) I only used half of the clay (80 grams), and still have over half the spray left. Enough for me to have a go at the tougher areas in more detail another time. Conclusion At a guess, I would say it's worth doing once a year or every 15,000 miles (whichever comes first) depending on local roads and weather conditions to keep your paintwork in top condition. Far easier to get your paintwork mark free after washing/waxing when this has been done. Why garages don't sell this to customers is beyond me, everyone should be using this product!Date published: 2016-07-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben6279 from Great Product Have used this before and will definitely use again. Does what it's supposed to very well.Date published: 2016-07-16
