Electric Capability

The MTX-E 8.9 is the flagship model of the MTX-E series, featuring enhanced components and improved performance. Offering the same versatility and comfort as its siblings, the MTX-E 8.9 takes advantage of Shimano's EP6 mid-drive motor delivering the same 504Wh battery and 60* mile range as the 8.8's EP5 system but with the improved performance of a punchy 85Nm of torque, resulting in a noticeable increase in assistance and drive when needed.

With three levels of power assist, the EP6 motor is easily controlled via a user-friendly LCD unit, allowing you to tackle longer rides and off-road trails with confidence.

Shimano CUES is a new addition to Shimano's componentry range and a direct result of riders asking for a durable, yet affordable groupset that delivers outstanding performance across multiple riding styles.

The MTX-E 8.9's CUES 11-speed groupset features a wide 11-50-tooth cassette with LINKGLIDE technology, which sets a new standard for smooth and reliable shifting regardless of the conditions or terrain.

Comfort & Versatility

The MTX-E 8.9 features an air-sprung Suntour suspension fork, allowing for easy adjustments to suit your personal preferences and riding needs-an improvement over the 8.6 and 8.8 models. It also includes a plush Boardman memory foam saddle, ensuring comfort for all-day rides. When paired with the dropper seat post, you can easily adjust the saddle height on the go, allowing for quick transitions on and off the bike, as well as improved control on challenging terrain.

Additionally, this bike comes equipped with wide 50mm Goodyear Connector tyres, known for their outstanding performance and durability. The tread pattern offers consistent grip on various surfaces, along with low rolling resistance.

The frame is thoughtfully designed with mounts for mudguards and a rack, enabling you to customise your bike to meet your specific needs.
