Oil Change
Changing the oil in your car is key to maintaining a healthy and reliable engine. Oil is one of the most important components in your engine, helping to lubricate key components and maintain operating temperatures. Old and dirty oil can even affect the mpg and efficiency of your car.
Our trained technicians will drain the old oil and replace with new oil to your manufacturer specification. They will also replace the oil filter at the same time.
Maintains Performance
An oil and filter change is ideal for maintaining your cars peak operating performance between services, but is not recommended as a replacement for an annual service.
If you're unsure the last time your car had an oil change or service, we recommend either a Full or Major Service.

All parts fitted at Halfords Autocentres and National Tyres Autocentres are guaranteed for a minimum of 2 years or 24,000 miles* (whichever is sooner). Some parts such as batteries include a longer warranty as stated on the product.
If a part we have fitted should fail, it can be replaced or repaired at any of our 600 autocentres. This guarantee only covers parts and labour, excludes any additional costs incurred due to a warranty failure.

How often should I change my oil and filter?
It's recommended that you change your oil and filter annually, or around every 8,000 miles. Prevent wider engine damage and book in your replacement service today.
What oil do Halfords use?
At Halfords, we use the specific engine oil that your vehicle requires. All of our engine oils are high-quality and from trusted brands.
Can I book just an oil change, or does it have to be with a service?
You can book an oil change separately. However, an interim service - opens in a new tab includes an oil and filter change as well as more essential checks, for a relatively small additional fee.
Will an oil change reset my service light?
An oil change will not reset your service light, as traditional service tasks are not carried out. To reset your service light, you'll need to book in for a service (interim, full - opens in a new tab, or major service - opens in a new tab) where additional checks and top-ups will be performed.
