What to bring to a car service
Your annual car service is essential for keeping your vehicle running smoothly.
Along with your car and keys, there are a few important items you’ll need to bring with you to make the process as quick and efficient as possible.
1. Locking Wheel Nut Key
Your locking wheel nut key allows technicians to remove your wheels. At Halfords Garages, wheels are removed during a service so we can inspect your steering, suspension and brakes. Place the key somewhere visible; the cup holder or passenger seat is ideal.
2. An Empty Boot
Your spare tyre is usually stored in or under the boot.
To access it, our technicians need the boot to be clear. So before you arrive, remove heavy items, luggage or anything that may block access.
3. Your Service Book
Your service book shows when key components were last replaced such as spark plugs, brake fluid and cabin filters. Bring it with you so we can update it with a new service stamp, which helps maintain your car’s full service history.
4. Valid MOT Certificate
Every service includes a short road test, so your car must have a valid MOT. If your MOT is due, you can book a combined MOT and service for added convenience.
