At the core of the system is the fully wireless Shimano GRX RD-RX717 rear derailleur, engineered for exceptional durability, precise gear changes, and dependable performance on rough terrain. Designed to handle everything from fast gravel racing to long-distance bikepacking, the RX717 delivers smooth, consistent shifting in all conditions.

Sharing the same removable BT-DN320 battery as the GRX RX827, XTR M9250, DEORE XT M8250, and DEORE M6250 rear derailleurs, the RX717 makes battery swaps quick and hassle-free across multiple Shimano Di2-equipped bikes. When paired with a wide-range 10-51T 12-speed cassette, it offers the gearing range, chain control, and rapid shifting response demanded by technical climbs, loose surfaces, and high-speed descents.

As with all Shimano Di2 electronic drivetrains, the GRX RD-RX717 is fully compatible with the Shimano E-TUBE app. This allows riders to fine-tune shifting speed, customise button functions, and keep firmware up to date, ensuring the derailleur performs exactly how you want it to on every ride.
