Carrera Crossfire 3 Mens Hybrid Bike - 17", 19", 21" Frames is rated out of 5 by 15.Rated 5 out of 5 by BushiBoy from Year Old and Still Good to Go x I have had this bike for a year now, rode it hard and put away wet ,every day at least 10 km, and it still rides like a dream, if not better. I got the CC3 as birthday present from my GF (thank you Tori) who picked it on looks alone, without knowing that my current bike was a CC2, in black and green. When we went to the shop to look at it,,I was impressed,,its solid yet light, and a big step up from the CC2. I train a lot, Im 50, 6ft1, 92 kilos and benching 147.5 kilos,,and I am no light fingered skinny jeans wearing hipster,,lol,,Im a lump,,but after a year of heavy riding on rain wet and snow,,at least 3 crashes, the only thing wrong has been tyre changes x 2, inner tubes, the seat split and cosmetics, which is really amazing considering the amount of pressure the poor thing is under lol. I have a rack fitted that takes minium 5 sometimes 15 kilo pack, a new your fargetaboudit lock 2.2kg and my big selt, and i leave my bike in either the hardest or second to hardest (i dont know if thats high or low lol,,im not a lycra shorts or clip in shoes guy lol) so I spend a lot of time out of the saddle (probably why I haven't replaced it lol) so the pedals and gears are under a lot.of pressure ,but she (I call her LaLa ) rides like a dream. Ive never unstood people who wrote reviews after 2 weeks, or even worse, unboxing videos (thats just showing off), but here is an honest review from a big lump that has been riding hard for a year, buy it, you wont regret it. Its strong, fast and stable,,perfect for commuting in London , and that is what I use it for every day. Not sure about off road, when I go to the woods its for a picnic lol. PS, if your not used to cycling, or want a bike to loose a few pounds and get t-shirt ready for summer, this is ideal as the geometry makes you feel stable and safe, its a confident riding position wether your a first timer going to the shops and back, just round the park, or Stratford to London on then C2 highway racing lycra bankers on 1G racers,(which i can easily keep up with or beat), couriers,(always good for a laugh) or trying to beat those lil bromptons which a surprisingly fast lol. PPS,,Now you know why Ive had 3 crashes lol,get it and have fun xDate published: 2018-04-26Rated 4 out of 5 by RogWC from Roger Case After a shaky start with a gear/chain problem the bike has proved itself on a number of challenging rides on road and on trails. Wet conditions OK but not mud. Range of gears good but gear change a bit clunky at times. Glad I bought it as a companion to my MTBDate published: 2018-02-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Skrammd from Great choice Brought to replace a 23 year old Mountain Bike. I checked over my options on Halfords website. I thought this time as its used for commuting, I would try hybrid. I found this one seemed best as wanted disc brakes, and went through various reviews, over hydraulic or cable brakes, only as this is the make or break over getting the Crossfire 2. Unfortunately my local stores didn't have the 3 in stock or in the frame on the Crossfire2 so went to another branch as checked by a staff member. I now have the bike I want and it rides great. Feels light when riding, feels like a better riding position over a mountain bike and although I initially didn't like the colour, it's grown on me, specially when I saw it in the flesh in the shop on collecting. The staff in the shop had great knowledge over products, as I had reviewed a cleaning product, and they advised they use it on servicing the bikes and also advised what product to use after cleaning to keep the lubrication up. The staff were also pleased over the great gears and brakes over previous models.Date published: 2018-01-20Rated 5 out of 5 by lord2017 from Good Lovely bike and excellent Lovely bike and excellent Lovely bike and excellentDate published: 2017-11-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Tuppy325 from Fast Excellent bike fast strong sturdy I like lockout feature on forks I lockout on tarmac then unlock when on rough surface, brakes are excellent I also ordered pannier rack and bags which the staff at Cycle Republic Norwich Castle Mall put on for me,the staff there were fantastic couldn't be more helpful .I am very happy with the bike it's great I can't stay off it the gearing is also excellentDate published: 2017-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Excellent hybrid bike Now that I`ve done a couple of decent length rides on my Crossfire 3, I feel that I`m able to say that I`ve made an excellent purchase and how pleased I am with my Crossfire 3 I`m 6`2" (1.87m in new money) and I went for the 21" frame which is perfect for my height. The lockout feature of the forks is great for when you are on road. I would definitely recommend this bikeDate published: 2017-07-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Fisherman397 from Halfords Salisbury Went to buy crossfire 1 or 2 in shop got talked into crossfire 3, none in stock, so sent email to Halfords central hub, told me that there would be some in stock within 5 days would be able to order click & collect in 7. Tried to order in 5, result bike would be at Halfords Fri can pick up Tues from build. In fact got phone call late Sat saying bike ready. Picked up Sun. Heard all the stories of how bad Halfords are at building bike, so when I got it home put on stand & checked everything, fitted rack & mudguards I had purchased too. All good, rode to work Tues & Thurs. No issues cannot fault them for service.Date published: 2017-07-04Rated 4 out of 5 by Dazinburton from New to cycling I needed a cycle to get a bit fitter so wasn't looking for anything too sporty or lightweight but wanted a hybrid to cater for on/off road use. This is bike feels as comfortable on dirt tracks as on tarmac. Smooth gear selection, good brakes and a comfortable riding position. Tyres are able to cope with loose surfaces without being too noisy or unstable on the road. The saddle is ok but as a new cyclist my butt needs to toughen up! The suspension is good but I prefer it disabled for road use. Compared to other bikes available in my price range it has some nice touches like decent pedals, sprocket protectors and hydraulic brakes. Time will tell but within the first 6 weeks I like it a lot!Date published: 2017-05-12
