How often should I service my car's Air Conditioning?

We recommend you service your air conditioning system every two years to replenish the liquids used by the system, and to ensure all components are working correctly. Your owner's manual will give you the specific requirements for your car.

What happens during an Air Con Diagnostic?

Our air con diagnostic check is a comprehensive inspection to identify the cause of any faults or leaks in your air con system. Our checks include: • A temperature check • A refrigerant check • A leak test (using nitrogen) • An inspection of key components, including the compressor, condenser, drive belts and hoses Once the above checks have been completed, our team will then give you the option of the following service, during which we will replace and recharge lubricant and refrigerant levels in line with your manufacturer's recommendation: • Full Air Con Service including an Air Con Regas/Recharge - R134a refrigerant - £74.99 • Full Air Con Service including an Air Con Regas/Recharge - newer R1234yf refrigerant - £139.99 Please note: There is a possibility if the compressor is not working and there is little gas left, the non-functioning compressor would not be diagnosed until after the car has been re-gassed. If this is the case, you will not be charged for the re-gas and will be provided with a quote to repair the compressor.

An Air Con Regas includes removing the old refrigerant, checking for potential leaks and refilling with the correct refrigerant. We recommend this is done every 1-2 years. Please note: Before booking a regas service we recommend checking your vehicle handbook to identify which gas is suitable for your vehicle.

How often should my aircon system be re-gassed?

It can also lead to long-term issues such as cracks in the pipes and can cause other parts to seize up.
