Chilli Technology 120HD Action Camera is rated out of 5 by 20.Rated 1 out of 5 by Cordelia21 from Not good Image dark, blurry and kept freezing. Took it back.Date published: 2017-09-22Rated 5 out of 5 by Andy2023 from Great Bike Cam I bought this on a special deal For £30. I read some of the previous reviews and thought it was a worth a punt, 'cause if it didn't work I could always take it back. I must say the camera is really good. I attached it to my helmet using the Velcro sticky pad and a couple of cable ties. The sound and quality is exactly what I need to ensure I capture any incidents whilst out riding. I think the key to ensuring this camera works is reading the set up instructions!Date published: 2017-09-17Rated 5 out of 5 by basil0001 from Easy to use Fantastic little camera. Was a bit dubious as less than half price. So impressed bought another for my wife. Not too big so sits nicely on helmet. Does play back a lot of wind noise, but irrelevant to me as bought purely to record my journey in case of accident as have had many car drivers pulling out or getting too close. In fact was able to record a car that was broken into and thanks to the power of internet was able to post picture and alert owner and police.Date published: 2017-06-13Rated 1 out of 5 by Johnkins from Hopeless performance Just wanted a simple cheap head camera, similar performance to my £20 dash cam but with re-chargeable battery. The Chilli 120 seemed appropriate. OK at walking speed but at riding speed it jumps and misses sections, cannot record fast enough, video not watchable. What is recorded is quite good. Tried a different memory card and different computer, same result. Taking it back for a refund or swap if a different (new) one will work.Date published: 2017-05-16Rated 1 out of 5 by Bedfordbiker from Mine packed up after 8 months Thought it was a great cam to use for daily commute on motor bike. got 8 months use out of it and the battery packed up. Contacted customer service and told nothing can be done as the cam is a sealed unit and the battery is not replaceable. £80.00 down the drain then Useless product, useless customer service AVOIDDate published: 2017-04-19Rated 4 out of 5 by Graham9901 from Update on my previous review I wrote a pretty negative review on 31 March 2016. Since then, the annoying bluish tinge seems to have receded. I don't know why. More importantly, I have discovered why the memory card was filling up so quickly. For an unrelated reason, I was looking for hidden system files on my computer while the Chilli 120HD camera was plugged in. The camera's card has two hidden folders (FOUND.000 and FOUND.001) containing a number of *.chk files). These hidden files were taking up 3.5 GBytes of space (i.e. secretly hogging nearly 50% of the available storage). Once I deleted these files, I had a fully available storage card. I can only think that the camera must have left the factory with these huge hidden files still on the card. Now the camera is working properly, I would raise my rating from 1 star to 4 stars. It is extremely good value for money and easy to use. It was poor though to have been shipped like that.Date published: 2017-01-04Rated 1 out of 5 by Thechalkster from Hardly ever records I attach this to my crash helmet daily for my scooter to record my commute in case anything happens and I need a record of it. The cam only ever records at most 20% of the journeys and believe me I have bared with it many many times. At first I thought it was maybe the way I turn it on or start a recording, perhaps a fault with the many (6) SD cards I've tried with it or maybe whether I charge using the cable input direct from plug or a laptop, but no, it fails on all scenarios repeatedly I've had many things happen that I wanted to watch back and have either no recording, a frozen recording after 2/3 minutes or multiple tiny files that play nothing. It is the most unrelieble piece of kit I had ever had the misfortune to use. Absolute disgrace considering most of those using it on bikes are using it to record any important events. I'm glad I just used it on a commute and not to record a once in a lifetime ride or beautiful scenery and certainly gald I was not in a serious accident and needed the footage. Please don't waste your money as I have, unless you want a dummy cam, complete with flashing light, to make people think you are recordingDate published: 2016-05-27Rated 1 out of 5 by Graham990 from Poor quality compared with the original version I bought a Chilli bike camera in 2012 and was really impressed. Great price and good picture quality. I really did like it very much. Unfortunately, after 3 years of use, it misbehaved so I bought a new one (again from Halfords). Big mistake. The picture quality is now lousy (everything has a bluish tinge and anything out of daylight just goes black. And the chances of reading a car number-plate have receded to pretty well zero. Also, the playback in this newer model is jerky (why??) and the file sizes of the recordings have increased by about 50% - meaning that the memory card now fills up after only two days. Avoid this model. Great shame as it used to be brilliant value for money.Date published: 2016-03-31
