Hammerite FAQs

It doesn’t dry instantly, but it’s not too slow either. Usually it’ll be touch dry in a couple of hours, but that doesn’t mean it’s fully set. If you’re doing another coat, you either do it fairly soon after or leave it till the next day. For it to properly harden, it can take a bit longer, so it’s best not to rush it.

You can, but it’s not really what it’s made for. It’s designed more for metal, especially things that might rust. On wood, it might stick, but the finish isn’t always great and it doesn’t soak in like proper wood paint would.

To a point, yes. It can handle normal heat you’d get around things like radiators or metal surfaces, but it’s not meant for really high temperatures. If something gets very hot, you’d usually need a specific heat-resistant paint instead.

Yeah, you can. It comes in spray form as well, so if you don’t want to use a brush, that’s an option. It’s actually quite handy for getting into corners or awkward spots.
