Refreshed for the model year, the 8.9 is the top of the range HYB model. Built with an incredible spec, the 8.9 is designed to be the ultimate bike to tackle any journey whether it's the commute, doing exercise or just getting from A to B.

With its aluminium frame with hidden welds and sleek carbon fork, the Boardman HYB 8.9 has the looks to back up its incredible spec. Thanks to Shimano's new M6100 1x12 Deore drivetrain the HYB 8.9 offers an incredible 12 gears controlled by just one lever. The huge range of the cassette ensures you have the right gear on the fastest descents and the steepest inclines. Offering increased power versus the brakes found on the 8.8, the HYB 8.9 features Shimano MT410 hydraulic disc brakes which will very quickly bring you to a controlled stop.

Schwalbe 35mm tyres with raceguard technology offer dependability, comfort, grip and confidence due to the added puncture protection.

Sleek, considered design

The HYB 8.9 is built on a triple-butted aluminium frame which is lightweight and includes features such as dropped seat stays for added comfort. The 1-piece bar and stem*, which includes matching headset spacers, contributes to an overall sleek design finish. The 8.9 gets a carbon fork which not only reduces the overall weight of the bike but reduces vibrations from the road for a more comfortable ride.

New Shimano Deore 1x12

With 2 extra gears and a larger gearing range than the 8.8, the HYB 8.9 features Shimano's new M6100 Deore 1x12 drivetrain. This set up includes an 10-51T cassette which at the high end ensures you will never run out of gears on the descents and at the low end will keep you in the saddle no matter how steep the climbs get. With 1 shifter controlling the entire range of gears, not only can you dedicate more focus to your ride but weight is reduced and maintenance is made simpler.
