The new Schwalbe Shredda Gravity tyre has been developed to maximise grip and performance on the most extreme off-piste trails and downhill tracks for both regular MTB bikes and E-MTB bikes.

The rear specific version has tall tread blocks to find grip and traction in very loose, loamy or muddy conditions, combined with aggressive shoulder blocks providing plenty of bite when leant over and cornering at speed. The centre tread blocks have reinforcing bridges to provide more stability and durability in order to withstand the drive force torque exerted by E-MTB bikes on steep technical climbs, and equally the braking forces on steep technical descents.

The new Shredda features the new Schwalbe radial carcase construction, taking its performance to another level. The radial construction allows for a much greater degree of flexibility within the carcase so the tyre can conform to the trail irregularities much better than a conventionally constructed tyre. This means that higher pressures can be run to provide better pinch-flat protection whilst still providing greater compliance for much improved levels of grip and damping. Suitable for MTB and E-MTB bikes.

**The Radial Revolution!

**More Grip, more smooth, more performance, more fun...

Schwalbe's new radial construction is a revolution in mountain bike tyre design. With a completely new approach to the carcase construction the threads, which run diagonally across the tyre at a 45° angle in conventional bicycle tyres, are arranged at a much more obtuse angle in the Schwalbe radial tyres. The carcass material overlaps for a shorter time and with less tension. As a result, the tyre deforms more selectively and can react much more flexibly to unevenness in the trail surface. Radial tyres offer around 30% more contact area than conventional tyres at the same air pressure. Even if the air pressure is increased by 50%, the contact area is still 15% larger.

The increased contact area and the more flexible response behaviour provide significantly more grip, more damping, more safety and more comfort. The tyre absorbs impacts better and uses the suspension travel more effectively - it literally sucks itself into the ground. This applies to both mountain bikes and e-MTBs, which provide significantly more traction on the ground with radial tyres.
