I was happy to get a short notice fitting and can't fault the service, however the roof bars make an irritating whistling noise with the wind blowing through them when driving. I bought the Halfords brand instead of the more expensive one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE i recently purchased a mountain bike for my teenage son's birthday. Bike build was an asset at this branch and to say the whole experience at Halfords Rayleigh was a "ride in the park" is underestimated. Alex adjusted my sons seat and handle bars according to his height, and made sure everything else was as it should be. He advised me of the maintenance care package without any annoying sales pitch and dealt with my purchase and finance plan with great ease.He then carefully placed the bike into the back of my car for me. I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable shopping experiences I have had in a long time and I wish Halfords could've seen the look on my son's face when he uncovered his surprise at home!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Service not as great as expected Came into store looking for bikes, the one I see on display apparently they couldn’t sell due to no stock so we left and looked online. We then placed a large order for 2 bikes, 2 children’s seats, helmets & accessories and was told it would be in and ready for collection the following Sunday. Received an email regarding finance but nothing from halfords with a reference number which made every customer service conversation difficult. We received a call near Sunday to say one bike hadn’t arrived so pushed back another week. We get a call to say it’s in they’ll put everything together and ready for collection Sunday. Later in the week we get another call and now it’s not in, they push back another week. By now we’re ready to totally cancel our order as we’ve arranged childcare every Sunday so we can pick them up (highly annoying) I call to double check it’s in before we go and they seem to not know what I’m talking about but assured me if they said it’s ready it will be (not helpful) . Husband calls and says we’d like to cancel it all but guy insists it will be ready Sunday again. It’s finally ready third time lucky, however we then spent 30-40 mins waiting for all the paper work to be sorted and reminding them of items that were missing. The two people serving us seemed to really struggle for whatever reason, maybe because we bought it on finance. If we had realised it would make everything such a palaver we would have paid outright. Overall not a great experience or anywhere near what I expected. Bikes are great although one is missing a bell but we can’t be bothered with the hassle of returning

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spoke repair The actual repair seems fine but there were some issues. I put my wheel in just before going away for a week so I could collect when I returned, I returned collected and paid and, on the way out, noticed that the spoke had not been replaced. Returned a week later, still not done, a tool had not been available, was told I would get a courtesy call, went back nearly a week later (no call received) and they could not locate the order on their system, they found the wheel though and it had been fixed. Staff were great, very polite & helpful and repair seems fine, just need a bit or work on organisation I think. I will still recommend as I'm happy to give another chance

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor telephone contact I have tried phoning the branch on numerous occasions and times, where I bought my bike from to ask about one of the promotions that come with my purchase and a query about the bill, but I have never been able to get through I just get the engaged tone straight away. On a positive note the staff where very helpful
