Jump Starter FAQs

How to use a jumper starter?

You charge it up, clip it onto the battery, then start the car like you normally would. If it doesn’t catch first time, wait a bit and try again. Once the engine is running, you can take it off and let the car run for a while.

How long should you leave a jump starter on?

You usually only need the jump starter connected for a short time. Once the car starts, take it off straight away. Leaving it connected longer than needed does not help and is best avoided.

What is a battery booster pack?

A battery booster pack is a portable power pack that can start your car if the battery is flat. It’s basically a rechargeable unit you keep in the boot, so you are not stuck waiting for another car to jump you.

Can a booster pack charge a battery?

It does not really charge the battery. It just gives the car enough power to start. The battery only charges properly once the engine is running or if you plug it into a proper charger.
