DPF Performance Pack

If you drive a diesel vehicle, it will almost certainly have a Diesel Particulate Filter (or DPF), and it’s essential that your DPF is kept clean of ash and soot build up. A DPF can become blocked by frequent short journeys and stop-and-go city traffic, so regular cleaning is particularly important for drivers who don’t drive long distances or do a lot of urban motoring. These short city trips will cause the DPF to become contaminated over time, and eventually cause a blockage. Not only will that cause an MOT fail, but it’s an expensive repair or replacement too.

But why can frequent short journeys block or contaminate the DPF? Short trips don’t allow the DPF to get up to temperature to burn off the soot build-up, which will result in increased fuel consumption and a loss of engine performance.

Attention: The DPF Performance Pack is a preventative measure, helping to clean the DPF as well as the whole diesel fuel system. If DPF fault already exists, a full DPF diagnostic must be booked instead.
