Featuring Infinity hubs, ID360 freewheel and Maxtal welded rims, this modern XC wheel lives up to the legendary Crossmax name: strong, reliable, and tubeless ready.

The name Crossmax has a long history in the world of XC riding and racing and this new wheelset lives up to its name with many of the same features and technologies as pro-level XC race wheels, but at a far more attainable price. One of the key factors is our UST technology, which allows for easy setup of tubeless ready tyres and gives you all the associated benefits including better traction and control, a smoother ride quality and a reduced risk of punctures. The rim is welded for added reliability and features a 25mm internal width with a hookless profile.

The Infinity lighter hub design optimises lateral stiffness and spoke tension. Our Instant Drive 360 freewheel with a double ratchet system provides fast engagement and top-level reliability.

Key Technology:

  • Maxtal aluminium alloy – Light and strong. Exclusive to Mavic, this specific aluminium alloy offers a higher strength to weight ratio than conventional 6106 alloy.
  • Instant Drive 360 freewheel technology – The new Instant Drive 360 freewheel system is super light and efficient. A large contactless rubber seal provides low friction, while a wide array of end caps makes it super versatile.
  • UST tubeless technology – Traction and control. Universal Standard for Tubeless. Ready to ride tubeless system. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort whilst reducing inertia and flats.
  • SUP welding technology – Factory Welded Process, stronger and smoother joint. After bending, the rim joint is arc welded. The welded seam is then milled for a smooth finish.
  • Infinity hub design – Efficient power transfer thanks to optimised non-contact spoke lacing (no noise under load) and tension distribution. The length of the spokes at the front and rear is identical. Maintenance is easy thanks to a tool-free solution.
  • QRM Auto bearing preload technology – The cartridge bearings are of course double sealed with C3 internal clearance. Their preload is automatically adjusted to guarantee a perfect spin with no play in the long run.

Compatibility:

  • Available with either a SRAM XD or Shimano HG freehub body. SRAM XD driver body (freehub body) is compatible with SRAM XD Mountain Bike cassettes only. Shimano HG freehub is compatible with Shimano HG 8-11 speed cassettes and SRAM splined 8-11 speed cassettes. Freehub conversion kits can be purchased separately for Shimano Micro Spline cassettes.
  • Available with 15x110mm / 12x148mm (boost) thru axle spacing or 15x100mm / 12x142mm (non-boost) thru axle spacing. Adapter conversion kits are available separately for boost quick release or standard quick release. Torque cap adapter kit is also available separately to convert the front wheel hub ends to 31mm.
