Rated 3 out of 5 by from Car Battery Replacement After ringing my local store to check the availability of a battery for an 07 Chevrolet Matiz, 1.0, I was pleased to be given the part number and told that it was in stock. However, having made a purchase, it became clear to the branch fitter that the item with the listed number, and its £61 price tag, did not fit. The cables were not long enough. This is the battery that is catalogued by Halfords, for this car. I then had to accept another battery, which cost me approximately £9 more. Having paid for fitting, a junior member of the checkout staff asked the fitter if she could fit the battery as she had never fitted one before. After some time and with help from myself and the regular fitter, the job was completed, slowly, but satisfactorily. In the circumstances, as I had to pay more for a battery that actually fitted and that the fitting service costing £15 became a training exercise, I would have been very pleased to have received, at least a reduced or no fitting fee to compensate for the wrong information and the resulting extra cost. It would seem that customer service and staff discretion are not strong points in the overall Halfords experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Needed to replace my wiper blades. Within 5 minutes the chap had looked up my car, got the right blades & fitted them. A bit more expensive than buying at the supermarket but soooooo worth it. Thanks.

Luke made a phone call to me this next morning and managed to source the torque hex key by contacting Thule direct.
