How much does an MOT cost?
The UK Government has set limits for MOT costs. A Class 4 MOT (suitable for a car with up to 8 passenger seats) should cost no more than £54.85.
What should you pay for an MOT? At Halfords, we can offer a standard car MOT for just £49.99 – please note that this is location dependent, select Halfords garages may charge the standard price of £54.85. Types of MOT tests offered by Halfords
At Halfords Autocentres, we offer two types of MOTs:
- Class 4 MOT for vehicles including cars (up to 8 passenger seats).
- Class 7 MOT for vehicles including pickups, vans and transits between 3.0 and 3.5 tonnes.
Not all our Halfords garages are able to perform Class 7 MOTs. You can check out our Class 7 MOT test centres online or call 0800 096 4216 to speak to your local Class 7 autocentre today.
How can I book an MOT at Halfords?
It takes a few minutes to book an MOT at Halfords. Simply enter your registration number and postcode when booking a Halfords MOT online, and you’ll be able to select a convenient date, time and test centre to drop off your car. All being well, you can drop off and drive away your car in a few hours.
