It represents the highest quality aluminium trail wheel we’ve ever built.

The rims are made with our patented Fore technology, which features a fully sealed upper bridge that eliminates the need for rim tape. That saves 30 grams per wheel and does away with the hassle of using tape to set up tubeless tyres. The rim has a 30mm internal width, perfect for optimising the performance of any modern trail tyre. It’s engineered with a super strong triangular shape, designed specifically to absorb impacts from the trail. Our Black Shield technology gives them a distinctive finish that protects against scratches and abrasions.

We use 24 straight-pull spokes to further dial in the sweet spot between lateral stiffness and vertical compliance. The Infinity hubs feature a stiffer and lighter construction that’s enhanced by the ultra-reliable ID360 double ratchet system for fast engagement.

Key Technology:

• Maxtal aluminium alloy – Light and strong. Exclusive to Mavic, this specific aluminium alloy offers a higher strength to weight ratio than conventional 6106 alloy.
• ISM light rim technology – Inter Spoke Milling is an exclusive Mavic patented concept. The ISM involves the machining of the lower bridge of the rim between each spoke hole to create a light and rigid rim without reducing the durability of the rim.
• Fore tapeless tubeless technology – Stiffer and stronger. Instead of being drilled, the lower rim bridge is pushed up on the inside, then threaded to enable the spoke nipples to be directly screwed in it, leaving the upper rim bridge intact.
• Instant Drive 360 freewheel technology – The new Instant Drive 360 freewheel system is super light and efficient. A large contactless rubber seal provides low friction, while a wide array of end caps makes it super versatile.
• UST tubeless technology – Traction and control. Universal Standard for Tubeless. Ready to ride tubeless system. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort whilst reducing inertia and flats.
• SUP welding technology – Factory Welded Process, stronger and smoother joint. After bending, the rim joint is arc welded. The welded seam is then milled for a smooth finish.
• Black Shield treatment – This treatment doubles the rim's lifespan against stone impacts and scratches. Super strong double coated treatment with a matt finish.
• Infinity hub design – Efficient power transfer thanks to optimised non-contact spoke lacing (no noise under load) and tension distribution. The length of the spokes at the front and rear is identical. Maintenance is easy thanks to a tool-free solution.
• QRM Auto bearing preload technology – The cartridge bearings are of course double sealed with C3 internal clearance. Their preload is automatically adjusted to guarantee a perfect spin with no play in the long run.

Compatibility:

• Available with either a SRAM XD or Shimano HG freehub body. SRAM XD driver body (freehub body) is compatible with SRAM XD Mountain Bike cassettes only. Shimano HG freehub is compatible with Shimano HG 8-11 speed cassettes and SRAM splined 8-11 speed cassettes. Freehub conversion kits can be purchased separately for Shimano Micro Spline cassettes.
