How to adjust front suspension on a bike?

To adjust your front suspension, first find out whether your fork is air or coil spring suspension. For air suspension forks, add air pressure with a shock pump to get up to your weight and type of riding. For coil suspension forks, you will possibly need to swap the spring to adjust stiffness. Most suspension forks have rebound and compression adjusters, usually at the top or bottom of the fork legs—to adjust how quickly the fork responds to bumps. Are all bike forks the same size?

Are mountain bike forks universal?
