Apollo Firechief Kids Bike - 12" Wheel is rated out of 5 by 68.Rated 1 out of 5 by TomC001 from Great toy, *AWFUL* bike Bought for my son's 4th birthday who absolutely loved it. It looks great and there's lots of things to play with on the bike. However, when it came to actually riding it, he really struggled. Turned out the peddles were _really_ stiff to turn with one particular tight-spot which meant my son couldn't get any kind of rhythm. Took it back to Halfords who adjusted it (after waiting for 90 mins!) but didn't make much of a difference. It's also very heavy and the knobbly tires mean its like riding through treacle. After 3 months of watching him struggle to peddle for >10m in one go, I bought him a second-hand Islabike - he jumped straight on it and was off _immediately_ doing laps around our local park! Absolutely couldn't believe it! So, while I was going to sell this on (it's only 4 months old!) I've decided to junk it - my conscience doesn't let me subject another child to such an awful "learning to ride" experience - it nearly put my son off cycling for good!Date published: 2018-06-15Rated 5 out of 5 by Hanna1904 from Fireman bike review I bought this bike for my sons 3rd birthday and he absolutely loves it, he’s really getting the hang of riding already just because he wants it all the time where he loves it! I also thought it only came with 1 siren but came with all 3 of them as well as a megaphone which made me feel it was even better for what I paid. I expected to spend £100 just on a bike but I got the bike, a matching helmet and matching bottle for just £72. I felt like this was a right bargain!Date published: 2018-05-09Rated 5 out of 5 by Tamzanite from Great bike My son is 2 and has been really jelous of his older sisters big bike. I tried a balancing bike but it wasnt good enough for him. I took him out to see wht the smallest bike was and he fell in love with this 1. Its the perfect size and has some room to grow. He loves the speaker and the noises it makes. Great price and most of all i now have 1 very happy little boy. Thank youDate published: 2018-04-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Hayles19 from Perfect for 3 year old fire enthusiasts! Love this bike. My 3 year old finds it easy enough to pedal and loves the siren and box on the back. It’s been a great follow on bike from the balance bike he had and although it is quite heave my son can still push it aboutDate published: 2018-04-01Rated 2 out of 5 by Quod from Daft heavy, some poor parts, maintenance nightmare. Tbf, this is a pretty bike. That’s probably why we got it, and our toddler likes the look of it. But, hey, it’s about eight blooming kilos. The first time I picked it up, I was, like, “what?! This is literally heavier than my bike.” That’s about ⅔ of his weight, and the equivalent of me riding a 60kg bike. I can’t beliece this is a structural necessity, and the weight means he can’t go fast or for long distances. Other factors have driven me to really dislike this bike. We’ve had two punctures in six months. There’s no justification for either - no holes in the tyre, and he’s nowhere near heavy enough to drive anything but a sharp spike through the thick plastic. Which hasn’t happened. Changing the front tyre is ok, but the rear is a maintenance nightmare. Seriously enough to make me think it’s an invitation to take it back in store for a repair. So. Yeah. If I wanted my toddler to learn to cycle, I’d think againDate published: 2018-03-24Rated 2 out of 5 by Jodie29 from Overpriced I got this for my 3 year olds birthday., after being messed around by Halfords for nearly a week I finally picked up the bike. It had a cracked in the horn, the front plastic keeps falling off and my partner had to tightened everything. It's overall poor quality for price and I'm very disappointed. I could of got a very similar bike for a fraction of the cost elesewhere!Date published: 2018-01-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Claudia210 from a little bike with personality My three year old grandson was delighted with this bike. He loved the colours, the little trunk at the back and the 3 way sirene. He got a fireman helmet to go with the bike and his dream of being a fireman has come true! What I liked particularly was the competitive price of the product, its sturdiness and above all the attitude of the staff who served me, courteous, helpful and efficient. Thank you Halfords!Date published: 2018-01-16Rated 2 out of 5 by Fumin from firechief bike no instructions so difficult to work it all out.very unhelpful in store.Date published: 2018-01-08
