This handy plan includes everything you need to keep your bike in tip-top condition and to keep you cycling. Just so you know, if your bike isn't new or wasn't bought from Halfords, it may be subject to service and repair before you can take this plan out.
FREE comprehensive silver annual service (normally £50/€60) including wheels and tyres, brakes, gears, drive chain and frame.

The Silver Service includes the following:
- Checking frame and other core components for wear and damage
- Checking hubs, spokes, rims and tyres for damage and that wheels are true
- Alignment of brakes and checking operation and effectiveness
- Lubricating chain and checking for wear
- Inspecting brake pads for wear and damage
- Setting gear stops and adjustment of indexing
- Checking front chainwheel, rear sprockets/cassette for wear
- Inspecting bottom bracket for play and adjustment
- Checking alignment and wear of front and rear mechanics
- Checking bearings, crank bolts and pedals for wear and damage
- Inflating tyres to thecorrect pressure
- Ensuring set up and positioning of the bike

But it seems a good product if not I will let you know. The service received in the shop was great and the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable.Date published: 2017-10-28Rated 3 out of 5 by eletricjon from avoid wellingborough store l had issue with my electric bike which was on a bike to work scheme. the bike had problem with the battery and was told by the makers to return to the store so they can send it back to them. even tho the bike had a 3year service plan l was lied to by the bike manager on a daily visit as this was a bike to work bike not a leisure bike l need the bike back asap as was unable to get to work so lost me income. It had taken the wellingborough store 7weeks to send the bike back only to get fixed in two days and returned to me. When the bike went in to the branch l only had a problem with the battery but when it come out the bike come back worse then before. only had 1 gear working on a 7 gear bike their was not brakes working on the bike their losted my battery charger. When l said this is not how it was when l give it to you l was told their is a 2month waiting list to get bike sorted out which is a joke as clearly saying that as dont want me returning bike to them. So the review on having a service plan might be good on paper but if you goto wellingborough branch its not worth the paper its writen on the staff ar rubbish and just laugh in your face, and one time l ask the bike manager why have you lied to me staying my bike has gone back when l know it has not as l contacted the bike maker before seeing you and his reply was am entitled to its my department. If you use your bike alot you're bound to need replacement chains, cassette or whatever. Spare yourself paying seperately and just get this - its under 15quid for a year and it saves you money. This has to be bought with a new bike though or within a set amount of days of buying a new bike there. Be sure to add it. My gripe with this, is that (perhaps its my local store) is depending on staff, minor repairs like a puncture which is a 10 minute jobby, i had to collect after two days(!). They booked it in for a repair, even though I brought the wheel in seperately. No matter how busy, two days is unacceptable wait. You're better off buying your own tool kit and watching Youtube to fix it for that long of time to wait. Chingford store: I have bad memories of having to get my brake disc adjusted. I went there for what must have been a dozen times to get it sorted out; in the end I annoyed of having to ride there everytime and having lousy work done that I just watched Youtube and did it myself (Halfords D.I.Y vid - thanks!) and did it perfectly. I don't know what it is, but with care plans the jobs done seem done to a lower standard. Also to note, they want to install Halford bought products. Products bought in store, like chains etc. Check online for the best prices first.. Lastly, Halfords are very quick to put forth products that you "need". They'll give you a massive shopping list, when all you wanted to do was something minor. If you don't buy that massive component shopping there, they won't bother with your bike. You're at their mercy, and that is when you realise why they flog bike care for cheap (so you can buy a bunch of accessories there). I was refused care for replacing a chain (temporary fix as I was going to get a new bike anyway) as I was told to change a cassette for a mountain bike. Boohoo, 750+ miles later guess what: the existing one is still ticking along nicely, thanks. It really depends on the store.
