Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a crock of shoot Wish I had read the reviews, attached to the nipple fine, pumps grease fine, doesn’t come off. One snapped nipple on a UJ later. Avoid like the plague, Halfords, disappointed in you for still selling something that is clearly not fit for purpose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid grease gun. No issues so far I purchased this grease gun along with a tube of grease as I wanted one to add to my tool collection. After purchasing it I read all the reviews and I initially considered taking the item back due to all the bad reviews, but I gave the gun the benefit of the doubt and used it. The grease cartridge was easy to install, screwed the lid on and away I went (after attaching the delivery tube) I used the item to lubricate prop shafts and UJ’s on my landrover and it worked perfectly. It didn’t get stuck, it didn’t shoot grease everywhere (apart from a little bit of seepage at the grease nipple), and most of all I didn’t break a single grease nipple. I clipped the end onto the grease nipple, pumped away, and then turned the gun slightly to one side and gently twisted and away the gun came from the nipple. No tugging, no swearing or any issues at all, so all is good so far, ooo don’t know if previous issues were down to an older design, bad luck or user error, all I know is I had no issues what so ever. Maybe it’s beginners luck

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nipple nightmare. I hadn't realised there were such reviews. I would never have considered this time wasting device had I researched. We've had iron gates fitted to the front of our house. The Blacksmith said it needs greasing. OK; after struggling to get the thing working, it jammed on the first nipple. The end of the tube is still firmly attached to the grease nipple as I do not want to suffer the trauma of others. Cann the Blacksmith!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Laser Grease Gun 500cc It's big, it's shiny, it takes a grease gun cartridge which is easy to fit. Otherwise, I haven't used it yet so I can't give any reasoned score ...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken grease nipples. Bought this without doing a review first - and same trouble, it goes onto nipple with no problem, but just will not come off. The nipple sheared off and I am still trying to get it off the gun! In view of other comments - I certainly would not recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 500cc laser grease gun Put grease gun together check all one way ball bearing valves, are clean and bed down One on gun by pump lever, and one in end of pipe with jaws, on in head of gun , Fail to do this,, and your be grease up as well as grease nipple,, as grease leaks out of air release valve by the pump and pump handle, And buy a flexible hose for gun as well at time of purchase, as I can guarantee your break the solid pipe at bottom, and need to replace it, they cut the treads so hard in bottom of pipe its as weak as a carrot stick one good push wrong way and your be back to Halfords for new pipe coupler,

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Broken grease nipples - the solution. Purchased due to immediate need I too got the broken grease nipple with this gun.A quick web search revealed this to be a worldwide problem with most models of gun out of the box. The solution is simply to remove the tip and clamp the nut in a vice.Using grips loosen the adjustable end.Grease it up and then get on with the job.The end can be loosened and tightened as required or stripped if needed ( for different sized and profiled nipples) and will give no more trouble once loosened off from the factory state.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I Had Read The Reviews After being happy at finding a Grease Gun at a reasonable price it was used straight away to grease old steering parts on a Classic MG and also brand new Track Rod Ends. After finally fathoming out how to add a Grease Cartridge and get it working and also purchasing the appropriate compatible Flexible Hose I ended up with 2 nipples successfully greased and two broken nipples, one jammed in the flexible hose and one jammed in the straight hose. Now the gun after about 5 minutes use is unusable with each hose blocked by broken nipples resulting in having to search for new nipples and a waste of just under £20 for grease, gun and new hose. I had been very happy with Halfords service recently but this item should be removed from sale, its very poor.
