Did you know Halfords installs over 1million wiperblades each year? We have designed a recycling process for this process in over 350 locations across England, Scotland and Wales.
Halfords collect wiperblades across 350 stores in England, Scotland and Wales. Our store colleagues pack them in a box to be sent to our headquarters where we collect in large volumes to be collected by our partners European Metal Recycling and MBA Polymers (a plastic recycling company) who use clever sorting technologies to recover most of the material to be recycled into material for remanufacturing.
This includes wiperblades removed from the car during our fitting services, or if customers want to drop off the wipervlades (no purchase necessary); however, we reserve the right to refuse drop-offs if customer has more than 10 wiperblades.
So far in 2023, we have recycled 100,000 wiperblades, and expect to recycle 400,000 in our first year.
