Start by checking the tyre size on the side wall of your tyre, including the speed and load rating, to ensure compatibility. Then enter your vehicle registration number here and choose the appropriate size to see what options are available. You can narrow the results down further by using our online tyres finder or the filters provided.

All tyre prices include fitting and balancing, as well as disposal of the old tyre and standard valves. Specialist valves can be fitted at an additional cost.

Wheel balancing distributes the weight of a wheel evenly on each axle, which helps to ensure that there’s consistent wearing across the width of the tyre. This is included when purchasing a tyre. Wheel alignment adjusts the angle of the wheels so that they’re set in the proper position. Here at Halfords, we offer front wheel or four wheel alignment and both services can be booked online. Select which type of wheel alignment you’d like (front wheel or four wheel), click ‘amend order’ and then select a drop off time and date that you chose for your tyres.

If you purchase tyres through Halfords, we offer a lifetime mileage guarantee for any manufacturing defects throughout the legal life of the tyre. If a tyre we’ve fitted has an issue, we can inspect this at any of our garages. If we can’t identify the cause of the issue, the tyre will be sent back to the manufacturer for testing. If the tyre is below the legal tread depth of 1.6mm, then the tyre will not be covered under any guarantee. Further information can be found here.

An MOT can be carried out up to one month, minus a day, prior to the expiry date of your existing MOT certificate, while still preserving the anniversary of the expiry date.

If your MOT repair work is completed by Halfords and the MOT retest is within 10 days, then the retest is free (providing that the repair is on the list of DVSA-approved items). If the repair work is carried out elsewhere and the retest is within 10 days, the retest will cost £14.99. After 10 days, you’ll need to pay for a full retest. More details can be found here.

An MOT will take between 45 minutes and 1 hour. You can leave your car with us or wait in the garage (subject to current COVID restrictions). We’ll let you know when your vehicle is ready. If your car requires any further repair work, our technician will inform you before carrying out the work. The time taken to complete the additional work will be dependent on the work required.

We generally don’t own the car parks outside of our garages and therefore have no control over CCTV or security. Leaving a car there will always be at the customer’s own risk.

An MOT test will check that your vehicle meets all road safety and environmental standards. It proves that your car is roadworthy and safe to drive, and every car over three years old must get an MOT each year to comply with UK law. An annual service involves a comprehensive check of your vehicle's condition, and a refresh of essentials such as engine oil, fluid and coolants, and replacement filters (if required). You should get a service at least once a year, but if you cover a lot of miles then your car might need to be serviced more regularly. Servicing should be completed according to your vehicle manufacturer’s schedule.

Unfortunately our garages don’t offer MOTs for motorcycles.

Most services will take a few hours, but it depends on the service package you select. We don’t offer service slots; instead you’ll need to leave your vehicle at your chosen Halfords garage at either 8:30am or 11:30am on the day of your service. We'll call you when your car is ready to collect.

We don’t currently update online digital service records. However, this is a service we hope to be able to offer in the future through your online Halfords account, which will show all of your Halfords service history in one place.

We’re unable to update BMW iDrives at the moment. However, your warranty won’t be affected.

The initial price quoted is a ‘starting from price’. Our prices are based on engine size and geographical location, so once this information has been added the price will change to reflect this.

You can enter your vehicle registration number here to see which air con gas you need (covers around 60% of cars in the UK) and to book a re-gas service.

All parts fitted at Halfords garages are guaranteed for a minimum of 2 years or 24,000 miles* (whichever is sooner). Some parts such as batteries include a longer warranty and this will be stated on the product. If a part we’ve fitted should fail, it can be replaced or repaired at any of our 600 garages. This guarantee only covers parts and labour, and excludes any additional costs incurred due to a warranty failure.

As a Blue Light Card holder, you’re entitled to 10% off servicing, a free MOT with a full or major service and 5% off repairs (in Halfords garages only). Full details are available on the Blue Light Card website.

Full details of our price promise can be found here. As long as the service offered is identical, we can match the price when booking or within 7 days of the invoiced work, if you find it cheaper elsewhere. This can be honoured at your booked garage.

It's easy to join the Halfords Motoring Club. You can either visit the club’s homepage or simply scan the QR code in one of our stores or garages and follow the online registration process.

You can cancel or amend a booking made online by visiting the Track My Order page. Amendments can be made for the same garage and service.

We aim to process all refunds within 5 days. However, please note that this is a manual process that will be subject to normal bank clearing procedures. We’ll contact you to confirm when the refund has been processed.

We always strive to complete repairs to a high standard and all our repairs come with a 2 year/24 month quality guarantee. Should you experience any issues with the work carried out within that time, you should contact your local garage who will be best placed to advise on any necessary inspections and next steps.
