Why write a review?

Your opinion is important to us! We want to hear about the products you like, the reasons why and any areas for improvement. Your experience will help other customers choose the right products and guide us on what we can do better.

As well as a rating, you can also provide a text review and include images, allowing you to provide more insight into your experience of the product.

You may even see some of the best reviews appearing on Halfords advertisements, as no one can describe our products more effectively than our customers.

Prevention and Prohibition of Fake Reviews

Halfords take fake reviews and ratings very seriously and we prohibit the publication and submission of fake reviews.

Fake reviews can include but are not limited to:-

reviews about a product or service which has not actually been purchased or used
allowing other persons to post fake or mis-leading reviews
sellers, traders and/or their employees posting reviews about their products or a competitor’s products

We regularly check our reviews and where we identify a fake review or banned content, we reserve the right to take down the fake review and will remove any banned content, we will also take any further actions as deemed appropriate.

How to leave a review

Any of our customers can leave a review, this can be directly with Halfords or through third-party review sites (e.g. Feefo, Google) who may collect reviews on our behalf.

Following a purchase, customers will receive an email asking them to leave a review. Simply follow the steps outlined in the email to share your experience.

You may also be presented with the option to leave a review whilst shopping online via a pop-up window.

This process ensures all our reviews are written by real customers, allowing others to get a clear understanding of the products and services that we offer.

Review writing tips

We request that any reviews you provide is always an honest and factual account of your purchase. Here are some things you should consider when writing a review:

The review should focus on the product or service purchased
The review should be constructive - avoid accusations and offensive language
Keep to the true facts

We ask that you remain considerate when leaving your review, even if the product or service has not met your expectations. You must NOT:

Make false, inaccurate or misleading statements
Use offensive, vulgar, obscene, racist, hateful or derogatory language
Include links or promotional material in your review that could take other customers to other retail sites

Incentivised Reviews

Halfords does not incentivise customers to provide reviews.

Can a review be amended or deleted?

If a customer wishes to amend or delete a review, they will need to visit the third-party site they left the review with (e.g. Feefo, Google), and amend the review via the link originally provided or via an online account.

Negative reviews and complaints

Halfords take all feedback onboard whether this is via a review or a complaint. Halfords will not: -

Try to persuade consumers to submit a complaint, rather than leave a review for publication
Try to dissuade consumers from leaving a review of their experience even if the initial problem has been resolved
Treat a negative customer review as a complaint and not publish it

All genuine reviews provided by our customers are treated in the same manner, and in accordance with this policy.

What should I do if I have a concern about a review?

Although Halfords and the third parties that we use take a number of steps to prevent reviews being published that are in breach of this policy, if you feel a review on our site or one of our third parties does not meet this policy, please contact the site that the review is displayed on directly.
