Boardman Hybrid Bike ProTotal Women's Cycling, January 2016: "The frame geometry is well balanced to be suitable for both men and women, whilst offering comfort for those long days, and off-road gravel areas. It’s a great high-end spec without the high-end price tag, and it shows that a lot of thought and consideration has been put into this build."

Boardman Hybrid Bike Pro 2016 - 45, 49, 54cm Frames is rated out of 5 by 23.Rated 5 out of 5 by adamrider from Just brilliant! It's fast, lightweight, well built and responsive. Accelerates like a rocket if you really put foot to pedal, and the 1-11 gear system is foolproof but versatile. I dithered between a road bike and hybrid and glad I chose this; It's a comfortable, but still fast enough to make my ride time significantly quicker (even compared to the Boardman Hybrid Comp I was previously using)Date published: 2017-01-21Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Average I have been riding a boardman comp for 5 years . Decided to treat myself to a pro.My first mistake was buying my bike without sitting on it . I am 5ft 6 inch and all the charts say a small frame. While riding home from the shop I did not like the low front of the bike plus the cheap ,I ended up buying marathon tyres plus a handlebar stem adjuster add on the 3 year mainatence pack total cost over £1000 .Date published: 2017-01-12Rated 4 out of 5 by 0230 from Superb bike I was well impressed with this bike however not to happy taking it back next day to have bottom crank greased. Bike handling and gearing great. The thing that let's this bike down are the very soft cheap zaffiro tyres and cheap pedals.I replaced both items at a cost which I don't think you should have to. However that done now I have a completely good reliable cycleDate published: 2016-12-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Rob1962 from Brilliant bike I love this bike. The gears, the frame, the brakes, the lightness, its all good. I do a long commute twice a week on country lanes and this bike is perfect. Comfortable, with ideal geometry - I got the medium and I am 5ft 10, with 31" inside leg. With a 1 x 11 chainring I was concerned the gears may have over large gaps between them, but somehow the range and the gaps are both fine. If you are new to disc brakes you will initially find them brutal and will lock them up if you grab the brakes, but give it a few rides and they bed in and you get used to it. The sram gears change up and down with your thumb, but after a ride or two you quickly get used to this. I have discovered that Road mudguards are a lot more effective at stopping mud and water spray than mountain bike style mud guards, although they look naff.Date published: 2016-12-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Spoons2000 from Great Bike - Uber Fast and Light I've had a Boardman Hybrid before so I knew that the quality was excellent so I had no hesitation in buying another when my 6 year old one finally died on me on my way into work the other week (although to be fair it was only the many-times replaced components that packed up, the original frame is still fine!). I cover at least 500 miles a month with commuting and leisure riding so I need a quality bike with stamina and this fits the bill perfectly. The only minor niggles I have is that the saddle is about as comfortable as straddling a house brick and I can't see the tyres lasting too long on London roads so these will need replacing shortly but don't let this put you off. Buy it. It's fab.Date published: 2016-12-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Hughsie41 from Totally Impressed with Bike and Service. The bike is amazing. Its light and fast and is resposive to steering input. The gears give a good range from low speed for going up steep hills to well I've not been brave enough to go into top yet. The brakes have gradual bite which was a relief coming from V brakes to disks but they are fully able to lock up both wheels. If I ever meet Chris Boardman I'm going to hug the guy. The Service from the Putney Store in London was ace. The lad serving me put all my extra bits on for free, helped me set it up and it was a pleasant experience on the whole.Date published: 2016-11-22Rated 5 out of 5 by KetchupKev from Pricey, but good. Double thumbs up! As a lot of people seem to have done, I bought this on the Cycle2Work scheme. I use it mostly for commuting (with the occasional longer ride), and have found it a noticeable improvement on my old Voodoo. Pluses for me are; the weight, the gears, and the saddle (which I originally thought would be torture, but surprisingly the skinny thing is quite comfy, probably because of my personal padding!). The biggest minus for me were the pedals, couldn't get on with them at all and my feet kept slipping, so I replaced them with flat Boardmans. Small change but a big improvement for me, it's now like I'm attached to the bike with sticklebricks! The supplied tires were ok and I can't mark the bike down for it, but I had had schwalbes on my old bike and missed the anti-puncture confidence I had had with them, so on my 6 week checkup I had Schwalbe Marathon + fitted. Added to the overall weight of the bike but I'm now much happier that I won't be stuck somewhere in the rain with a flat tire (is there such a thing as a dry puncture day?). I would personally recommend the tire change, but to be honest, the bike was ok with the stock tires.Date published: 2016-11-17Rated 2 out of 5 by rjh68 from BB30 bottom bracket spoils an otherwise excellent bike Had this bike for about 2 months now and cycled approx 200 miles. Noticed a clicking under foot from day one. Hoped it was just a 'bedding in' issue but was still present when the 6 week check up was due. It was most prominent when under load (up hill in lower gears) but generally present throughout the range of gears. Halfords replaced the bottom bracket and I collected it today. Seemed ok initially so I decided to take it on a 20 ride to properly test it. Gradually got worse as I went along and at the end of the ride is was clicking just as bad as before the new bracket was installed. Back to Halfords tomorrow! Don't expect this on a bike that cost £800. Really disappointed because other than this I love everything about the bike - gear range, ride comfort, ride position are all spot on. Makes it all the more disappointing.Date published: 2016-10-19
