      Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike – 17”, 19”, 21” Frames

Take the strain out of your daily commute or weekend outing with the Carrera Crossfire E. On a single charge the 417Wh battery provides up to 60 miles of pedalling assistance and will propel you on to speeds of 15.5mph. The Suntour rear hub motor with premium torque sensor offers 3 levels of assistance – Climb, Tour, and Eco – so you will have the power you need exactly when you need it. The lightweight alloy frame and 8-speed gearing will help you up the hills, while the Suntour 75mm travel suspension forks will soften the bumps so you stay in control. Tektro disc brakes deliver reliable braking power whilst puncture resistant 700c Kenda K-935 tyres should help prevent a flat tyre from stopping you. If you’re looking for a solid bike that can handle roads and off-road paths alike, the Carrera E should be on your shortlist.

The Carrera Crossfire E is built around a fantastic Suntour rear hub electric motor system, seemlessly integrated into the rear wheel. The power control in the system is delivered courtesy of a premium Torque sensor, which gradually eases the power in and out in response to your input, providing a natural ride characteristic and a real reason to upgrade from more basic speed sensor systems. The quality of the Torque sensor is really notable when accelerating out of corners and make small, or when making tighter intricate maneuvers. As required by law, the motor will automatically stop assisting you once you achieve a speed of 15.5mph.

With a frame-mounted Li-Ion Phylion battery mounted on the Crossfire E’s down-tube, weight is balanced against the rear mounted hub motor providing an improved ride quality, over those with rear-mounted batteries. With a large battery capacity of 417Wh / 11.58Ah and a range of up to 60miles per charge the Crossfire is very capable of going the distance. As standard on all Carrera E-bikes, the Crossfire comes with an integrated smart control system that protects the battery from overheating, short circuiting or overcharging. The battery re-charges in just 6 hours, and comes with a full 2-year / 500 charge warranty.
Note; The total travel distance will depend on the capacity of the battery, rider and luggage weight, power mode setting and riding style.

The electric motor of the Carrera Crossfire is controlled via full LCD Suntour Head Unit. The detachable head unit allows you to choose from one of 4 assistance modes, depending on the level of support you require. The unit also allows the user to view additional data such as Speed and Mileage to provide additional data whilst riding.  The display is located centrally, directly below the line of vision whilst riding, allowing you to keep your attention on the road ahead.

    • Carrera Crossfire-E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike - 17", 19", 21" Frames is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 145.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good bike for the price I bought this bike during a recent sale when it was reduced to £1000 from £1250. It is the best entry-level electric bike I've seen. The frame is good and relatively lightweight, compensating for the weight of the battery and motor. The weight is relatively well-balanced with the battery in the middle and the motor on the rear wheel. The controls are very easy to use. The battery has a considerable life, 50km on moderate useage, more on eco-mode, ideal for a commute or a short to medium day trip. The only problem I encountered was with the motor control selector, which is on the left hand-grip. The buttons are prone to sticking (I leaned on it briefly and found it stuck in turbo mode) and a spare handset or a small screwdriver may be required to release stuck buttons, although it did return to normal after a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike I'm a 53 year old male and I started cycling again over a year ago trying to get fit but because I'm over weight and unfit i found it hard on a normal bike. So just over a month ago I treated myself to this bike and I have to say I love cycling now . It makes it so easy getting up the steep hills and gives you so much more freedom as you start going further than you would on a normal bike also I've not had the trouble with the bike cutting out like some have had . So I would definitely recommend this bike even more so if your getting on a bit and wanting to get fitter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cross Fire Review This is the 3rd cycle to work bike I have bought. A Boardman hybrid and a Boardman race. I travel 12 miles each way with a 300 foot incline, the journey on standard bikes was 1 hour in and 1 hr 10 home. I am now averaging 44min in and 45min home. The bike gently assists you and then stops at around 16mph. you can peddle as hard as you want or as gentle as you want to. I can now go UPHILL at around 16.5mph. I have had the bike for 3 months and done 660 miles on it, and loving every minute. I have had the battery stop, but suspect it is a heating issue as I leave it for 5 mins and all goes back to normal. In summary I would definitely recommend this bike, however be prepared for the Lycra boys to be upset when you pass them going up hills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exceeding expectations wont go back to manual bike now I trialed this first. Halfords offer a 1/2 hr trial for free (they take a penny , refundable , on your card and need to see your driving license) . I was hooked after the half hour, one of the hottest days of the year , 7 miles , no puffing, no panting , no sweating. Ive had the bike 2 weeks now and done @ 180 miles (would have done more but heat -torrential downpours seen me grounded a few days). Only issue of note-The battery did cut out once , 2nd /3rd time i used , but came on again straight away when i held the button , it was the hottest day of the year and the battery was almost flat, id done @15 miles that day, hasnt happened since. I`M fairly fit 51 yr old, still bench press 80k and wanted to improve cardio, without sitting in front of a bike monitor at the gym or putting un needed stress on joints on the treadmill and cross trainer (apart from the boredom of those things). Love the idea of riding a bike out in the fresh air with real scenery-but the slog of head winds, even in summer , and hills ,limit what i can be bothered to do on a normal bike, especially as i love riding trails and old railway tracks , which requires non roadbike tyres wheels etc etc. This bike has nailed all i want to do,. Firstly im no light weight , i put bike on full wack assist and just pedal- achieving @ 40 miles to a charge- which i am delighted with. I have messed about with no power etc and could easily get home with no power in a lower gear, wouldnt want to but i could , i rarely take it out of 8th gear. Saddle is comfy after initial settling in !!! Turn on-sellect assist pedal and go, hills , a breeze (only time i gear down is on steep hills) the battery -the controls all easy and simple to get on with. I just want to ride. Yes you have to put some leg work in , but its hard to describe what its like , a bit like having a back wind all the time even uphill. Makes even challenging hills a laugh and puts the smile on your face whilst exercising ...almost without realising you are exercising. After 17-20 miles im getting tired ,but without gasping without dripping in sweat - even in this hot weather (normal bike id have enough after @10 miles max, due to hard work and no fun and be sweaty. I waited until this came down in the sale to £1000... i joined british cycling club (@£20 a year) and immediately get 10% off all Halfords purchases for a year... think about that for a moment 10% , everything ... so i paid £900 for the bike.. £20 for B.C.C membership and £40 for the cycle protection scheme - which covers 1 years free labour from halfords...tyres need changing? Halfords do the labour free - also free servicing -who wants to service any bike ? especially an e bike-. total spend £960.... the real beauty is the 2 year guarantee... no quibble.. that equates to an e bike for 2 years for under £10 a week with no quibble warranty (even when i take next years service /protection out)....its a . No brainer......£10 a week = fun , health and transport. If you use it to commute ( i dont) you are laughing and really will be quids in Still not sure? go hire one .... i wouldnt go back to a manual now, not worth the hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy Only just had this for a week but very pleased so far. Good warranty and service plan. Rod at Torquay loaned me one for a trial and did a great job explaining every thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Well what can i say apart from brilliant, I live in whitby north yorkshire and as you can imagine it's full of steep hills, the hill out of my village is long and steep and as you can imagine going to work everyday is hard on a normal bike along these hills especially after a long day. Well this electric bike is amazing, what used to take me 45 mins into work is now 25mins and no effort needed, this bike takes everything in its stride, battery life for around here on a full charge to and from work lasts me 3 days and this is wiyh it on climb and sport modes included when cycling home. Which is great considering there are no flat roads here in whitby Build quality is great APART FROM the dork disk ( the plastic protector next to the motor on the back wheel) broke easily but for me it wasn't a problem as it was coming off soon as I got the bike as I hate them and not needed if you set your rear mech correctly. Very comfortable to ride, stable, sometimes reach 30mph downhill free wheeling and i feel in control, brakes are very good at stopping power, the control panel on the bike gives you all the information you need like trip distance, overall distance, battery left, and easy to read while cycling Done 1000 miles already since having this bike and apart from one cut out of power which is easily solved by pushing the button on the battery pack it's not let me down via road or bridal paths Highly highly recommended

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superb bike - won't ever go back to a normal bike again. Had this bike around 8 weeks now and used it every day for work and completed nearly 300 miles on it. Really pleased with it. The gears can be slightly clunky and on the odd occasion it will struggle to engage 5/6 but I'm sure a quick adjustment would sort that. Brake are great - comfy to ride and battery lasts a good while! No issues with it cutting our or the motor burning out like I've read so either I'm really lucky or they're really unlucky!! Don't think I'd go back to a conventional back after having this!!
