Apollo Excelle Womens Hybrid Bike 2017 - 14", 17" Frames is rated out of 5 by 23.Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Cheap bike cheaper quality The problem with this bike has been commented on here over and over. When I picked the bike up I asked if all the reviews about the tyres being punctured by the spokes where true “no! They are over exaggerating nothing wrong” I was told. So put in the boot of the car and took it home. Got out of the car guess what? Yep the tyres where flat! So took it back when they looked they found the spokes had punctured the inner tube. Maybe if they read there comments they could get the problem sorted or maybe they do read them and think because the bike is only £105 you should expect the problems like tyres being punctured before you even ride it! Halfords did replace the wheels for (hopefully) better quality ones at no extra charge.Date published: 2018-07-05Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Punctures Galore Do not buy this bike, I bought this bike to leave in Cornwall at our campsite over the summer. As soon as we got it home it had a puncture in the front tyre, I repaired it, only to get a puncture in the rear tyre, we had only rode it a maximum 200metres. Blowing up a new rear tyre inner tube the tube punctured again before I’d even disconnected the pump. Oh dear, the bike is not fit for purpose and judging by all of the reviews it should have been withdrawn from sale by now. The problem is with the spoke heads, they project too far into the wheel rim and no matter how thick the rim tape, punctured will always prevail.Date published: 2018-06-01Rated 1 out of 5 by Maggie01 from Total waste of money When I bought this bike I explained to the store staff what I would be using the bike for and this bike was recommended. I only used this bike a handful of times to go on local bike rides with my son when I developed a puncture in the back tyre. I returned it to have the puncture fixed and was informed that the wheel was buckled and I would need a new one (not sure how), the chain needed replacing and the front wheel was also buckled and would need replacing - the cost of all this being as much as a new bike. They also told me that this bike is unsuitable for any bumps no matter how small and should not be ridden as far as 3 miles. I had only been on short bike rides on flat roads so had not been far or over any bumpy terrain. I am not sure what this bike is suitable for or why it was ever recommended for meDate published: 2018-05-16Rated 1 out of 5 by Dgloria from Problems, problems, problems. I have this nike since a year, I commuted until now to a short way, 1mile, now that I started to use it for a 30 min commuting, all the problems came out. After I bought it, the pedals got loose on one side, probably poor assembly. After that I had to replace the seating for a minimally comfortable one. After that I had to replace the brake pads, because they just disappeared. A few weeks ago I took it apart, and moticed that none of the moving parts has been greased. I have issues shifting gear all the time. I have asked to replace the original shifters, so that works fine. The hub is not cassette, but threaded, which has to be replaced anyway. Two weeks ago I started to have flat tires for an unknown reason, then I checked after 4 tires and 4 lifts from work with my husband's car, that it has a single rim, however it looks like a double rim, and the nipples simply destroy the tube. And it was impossible to buy rim tape in the correct size. I have to spend on buying a brand new wheel (two), and pay for getting it aligned as well. The front mudguart has just broke, so I ahd to replace that as well. I've been cycling all my life and never had so many problems and anger with any of my previous bikes. Don't buy it. You'll gonna spend more on replacement parts and tools, or on repair, than if you would buy a decent bike. There is a reason why it is so cheap.Date published: 2018-05-08Rated 4 out of 5 by Steph7 from Flat tyre!!! Went to use the bike 4 days after getting it home, only to find it had a flat rear tyre that would hold no air when I tried to pump it up. Took it straight back to the shop and the inner tube and a new liner were fitted there and then. Great. Got 5 minutes down the road and heard it deflate in the back of the van so turned straight around again. Left the bike with them for 24 hours and a new wheel was fitted. So far so good.... Nothing wrong with the bike but expect the tyre to be flat.... I read the reviews before buying but took the negative with a pinch of salt. Seems in my case they were correct.Date published: 2018-05-03Rated 3 out of 5 by Cambridge123 from Wheel on the wrong way round! Hi we picked up the bicycle and when we got to the store at the pre agreed time it was not ready as it developed a flat tyre. We then went back and put the cycle in the car. When we got it out at home we realised the back wheel was put on the wrong way so the chain was not connecting obviously! I rang the store but could not get through.Date published: 2018-02-11Rated 4 out of 5 by Sandmantoo from Great bike Bought for my daughters 10th birthday - good price, great bike and service from Halfords was excellentDate published: 2018-02-04Rated 2 out of 5 by Jessywhizz from Cheap price for cheap bike This bike did the job but came with a few too many downsides. The brakes could never be adjusted properly to sit without touching the wheel so every ride was a gruelling one as if i was holding on the brakes. Unsure how I managed to get a puncture at least every other day with this bike, even with careful riding and recommended tire pressure I would always return to my bike and find it with a big old puncture. Gear changes were smooth in the beginning but later began to skip gears and/or stick on one gear which eas annoying. After using this bike for commuting daily for a year, I couldn't be happier when my pretty new Carrera Parva was built in the shop for me (much better value for money).
